Aivars Grotans

Aivars Grotans, age 70, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. He was surrounded by his wife Sandi Grotans of 31 years, son Ryan Grotans and daughter Brooke Grotans.

Aivars was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on May 29, 1954. He built a long and successful career as an industrial engineer. He had a deep love for the country and all the blessings it brought into his life. He led with kindness and always helped others.

He is now reunited with his father Elmar and mother Olga. Aviars is survived by his beloved wife Sandi, son Ryan and daughter Brooke. We will miss his sense of humor, devotion to family and caring of heart. 

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM, all are welcome to attend at 1640 N State Route 291, Liberty, MO 64068.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Gary Sinise Foundation, two causes that reflect the values Aivars held dear.
