Allen Henry Jackson, Jr.

Allen Henry Jackson Jr., 83, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026 at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. Allen was born October 17, 1942, to Allen Sr. and Jessie Mae Jackson in Kansas City, Missouri. Both parents preceded him in death.

Allen was educated in the Kansas City Missouri School System and graduated from Central High School. For a time after graduation, he attended Kansas City Junior College until called to active duty and sent to war in Vietnam. He was attached to a logistic support group – Naval Support Activity, DANANG, Republic of Vietnam. Later he volunteered to help set up Naval Support Facility in Chu-Lai Republic of Vietnam. Allen’s second year of military duty was aboard the destroyer USS Turner Joy DD951 providing gunfire support for the Army and Marines.

Upon returning home, Allen went back to work in the retail food industry for Milgram Food Stores for a total of 25 years, four years in management. He was later employed by the United States Postal Service for 25 years before retiring in 2009.
