Alpha Jean House was born March 27, 1946, to the union of George and Josephine Martin. She was the second of 3 girls born to this union. 

Alpha was a lifelong resident of Independence, MO. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1964. She later married Melvin M. House, who preceded her in death. Alpha and Melvin had one daughter. 

Alpha loved to travel, garden, cook, dance and laugh with her family and friends. She had the heart of a caregiver. She worked with a community program called Human Resources for several years, cared for the elderly in nursing homes, and worked for Visiting Nurses Association as a Certified Nurses Aid for 16 years. Alpha was also treasurer for S.E.B.R.A., an auxiliary that provided scholarships to high school and college students through various fund-raising events. 

She leaves behind to treasure her loving memory two siblings Beverly Rogers and Madeline Martin; one daughter Erica Wyatt (Vincent); three grandchildren Marcellus Corbin (Marissa), Joslin Wyatt, Mirissa Mullikin (Nolan) and one great grandson Corbin Mullikin.
