Joyce A. Althaus

Joyce Alene Althaus, 90, passed away November 7, 2022 at her son Rick Althaus' home in Lee's Summit. She died peacefully with members of her family by her side following a stroke.

Joyce was born June 8, 1932 in Clinton, Missouri, where her father Curt Kytle owned the Cozart Hotel. She was the only child of Marie Kytle, and grew up in Clinton before moving to Kansas City. She loved her family, friends, sports events, her many pet dogs and life itself. She married Kenneth Althaus on December 21, 1952.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Bill, Rick and Bret, their wives Stacy, Cathy and Jill and seven grandchildren - Rachel, Jenny, Jaxon, Lexi, Jordan, Zach and Sean; and four great grandchildren, Reagan, Maverick, Rhett and Ryland. Her husband Kenny Althaus, passed away April 6, 1999, in Odessa, Missouri.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon, Monday, November 14, followed immediately by the funeral at noon, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery. There will be a reception for family members following the service.

In lieu of flowers donations are asked to be sent to the Community Services League, the KC Pet Project and Independence Animal Shelter.
