Annie Bell Folks

ANNIE B. FOLKS (aka Sugar Mama, aka A.B.), was born December 5, 1938, in Tuskegee, Alabama, to the union of Charlie Lampkin and Pinkie McMullen. She left this life in the early morning hours of January 20, 2024.

Annie was married to Rufus Folks for over 50 years until his passing in 2005. She has also joined her siblings in heaven: Eddie McMullen, Charlie Lampkin, Marie McBride, Bertha Lee Pugh, Willie Lampkin and stepsister, Corrine Williams.

Annie leaves to mourn her passing: three daughters, Deborah Lampkin Talley (Henry Talley, Jr, deceased), Janis Alexander (Patrick Alexander) and Rita McDonald (Sam Eatmon); seven grandchildren, Sheila Lampkin, Karla Alexander, Talena Talley, Berquita McDonald Bonner, Patrick Alexander, Henry Talley III and Bernard McDonald; seventeen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Sugar Mama will also be sorely missed by all her nieces, nephews, friends, including an incredibly special friend Margie, as well as all her neighbors.

A celebration of Annie’s life will be held at a later date.
