Aretha Raglon, age 90, passed away December 30, 2025. Services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Swope Parkway Church of Christ, 5620 Swope Parkway, Kansas City, MO, 64130, with visitation starting at 9:30am, followed by funeral services beginning at 11:00am. Interment in Green Lawn Cemetery.
Aretha Raglon was blessed to be born to loving parents, Leroy and Mary Washington, on March 4, 1935, in Washington, Arkansas. She received her formal education from Lincoln High School in Washington, Arkansas. With the blessing of being reared in a loving Christian home, Aretha accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She was baptized at an early age at the Church of Christ located in Washington, Arkansas. Aretha Raglon met the love of her life, Mr. Elvin Raglon, and they united in holy matrimony on June 4, 1956. This union was blessed with five children. She worked for General Motors for 18 years. During her time with the company, she was a trailblazer for change and received numerous awards for her outstanding employment achievements. Prior to GM she was a day worker for several prominent business families in Kansas City.
Aretha Raglon worked for over 50 years in the Church of Christ doing various ministries at several locations, 1330 Michigan, 3900 Michigan, and 5620 Swope Parkway. She was a Sunday School teacher, a Willing Workers participant, a Nursery Attendant, a Food Pantry Coordinator, skilled seamstress, dedicated member in the Senior Citizens ministry, and involvement with other ministries. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends.
Aretha Raglon departed this earthly life on December 30, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Elvin Raglon, and mother, Mary Washington. She leaves to cherish her memories, her children: Glenn Raglon, Phyllis Judie, Dennis Raglon, Shirley Raglon, Carlos Raglon (Adrice); sister, Betty Jo Denton; grandchildren, Andrea Judie, Crystal Sanders, Glenn Raglon, Jr., Monica Judie, Christopher Raglon, Alexandria Raglon, Brandtley Raglon, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
