Obituary

Barbara Ward, loving mother and grandmother, died peacefully in hospice after living a full life of laughter and love.

Barbara was born in 1942 to parents Earl (Bud) Stagg and Madeleine (Peery) Turner (both deceased). She is survived by her sister, Jeanette (Stagg) Woods, and her brother Bud Stagg.

Barbara had three children, Angela (Hardesty) Kuehn (Kevin Kuehn, deceased), Jill Hardesty (deceased) (Mike Cormack), and William (Teague) Hardesty. She had two grandchildren, Emma Cormack (Colin Bain) and Anna Cormack (Sam Osburn), and a step granddaughter, Kristyn Kuehn. She also had many “bonus” kids and grandkids with her loving husband of many years, Charles Ward (deceased).

Barbara was a multi-talented woman. In school she was involved with the swim team, band (sax and majorette), and choir. She was a skilled seamstress, gardener, and enjoyed crafts and decorating cakes. She worked as a secretary, an Office Manager for Penny Hardesty at State Farm Insurance, and as a cake decorator, to name a few.

She will be missed by all who knew her for her incredibly sweet nature.

Her family would like to express appreciation to her caregivers at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville, MO, and to her friend and neighbor Veta Harmon in Claycomo, MO, for their excellent care and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, her family suggests giving to your local animal shelter, as Barbara was a dog lover, planting flowers in the spring, or enjoying a spirited game of Uno in her memory.

A private celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
