Lees Summit

Beatrice Darline Cletcher Naugle, 90 years young, was a resident of John Knox Village Care Center in Lee's Summit, Missouri. She passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by family, on July 8, 2025 at Lee's Summit Medical Center.

Bee was born March 5, 1935 to Victor Mains and Anna Ruth Mains Little in St. Louis, Missouri. She grew up in Redfield, Arkansas, the middle daughter of 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls. She was a 1953 graduate of White Hall High School. On August 3, 1955, Bee was united in marriage to Billy Cletcher. Her beloved "4 T's" were born of this union: Teri, Tim, Todd, and Tom. She worked as a soda jerk where she met Bill, in a bank, at Southwestern Bell, and at the Avon plant in Kansas City, Missouri, but she always said raising her children was her greatest joy and accomplishment in life. As her children grew to be adults, Bee then became a loving Caregiver for many seniors in the area.

She loved all kinds of music, but especially Elvis, the Gaithers, John Denver, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Marty Robbins, and so many Country and Bluegrass artists. Bee listened to the radio station "61 Country" every day, calling in on our rotary phone to request songs and enter contests... many times she won. She was a huge Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs fan and also loved playing Bingo at John Knox!

Bee had a way of endearing herself to those around her. She generally put the needs of others in front of her own, never wanting to be a burden to anyone. Bee had a sincere and caring interest in people and gave the best hugs, a tradition passed down to our family. She was very generous and kind and loved to make you feel special. She loved to blow you kisses when you were leaving. Bee could also remember names and birthdays of not only close family members, but cousins, their children, her children's friends, even many of the people who cared for her at John Knox. She loved planting flowers and had quite a green thumb. She also loved all kinds of animals.

Over the years Bee was known by many names. Through her younger years, she was known as Darline, Dee, and Mom C. After her first marriage, she would tell you her name was Bee, "spelled B Double E." At John Knox she was known as Queen Bee or Busy Bee for very different reasons, but to her grandchildren, great-grands, and many others, she was lovingly known as Nami. Her funny sense of humor included pranking and joking. She and her son-in-law Ken would tease each other that he was her "mean ol' man" and she was his "mean ol' woman." Bee also liked to surprise people by quickly reciting the entire alphabet backwards

Bee was having a hard-fought battle with Parkinson's Disease that spanned the past 25 years. In spite of this, at the age of 70 Bee married Clyde Naugle on September 18, 2005. A new adventure began, moving to California where sons Tim and Tom had also moved several years earlier. In 2013 Bee's health was failing, leading her and Clyde to make the difficult decision for her to move back to Kansas City. She wanted to eventually be buried next to her son Tim, who had passed in 2001. Bee was ever resilient, having beaten Hospice earlier in California and now also in Missouri after she returned. She later became a resident at John Knox in 2017.

Bee is preceded in death by both parents, husband Clyde Naugle, brothers Jimmie Mains, Dean Mains, Jerry Allen, sister Bettye Tracy, son Tim Cletcher, and granddaughter Paula Cletcher. She is survived by her daughter Teri Duckworth (Ken), sons Todd Cletcher (Cynthia), Tom Cletcher (Tiffany), grandsons Jordan Duckworth (Jessica), Thomas Cletcher, Daniel Cletcher, granddaughters Jenna Miller (Jase), Megan Chacon (Gabriel), great-grandsons Kane Miller, Henry Duckworth, Jack Duckworth, Brody Chacon, Hunter Chacon, great-granddaughters Elsie Duckworth and Kali Miller, several beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. We will miss her on this side but find comfort that in Jesus, we will see her again!
