BENJAMIN ELLIS KILGORE, a caring father and grandfather, died in Independence, Missouri on August 22, 2025 after a brief illness and recent loss of his love, Connie Combs.
He was born in Kansas City, MO on May 11, 1957, to Letha Mae (Campbell) and Denver Howard Kilgore. He was the youngest of four children.
Ben was a member and former trustee of the Sugar Creek Eagles FOE Lodge #3717. He spent much of his time working and volunteering at “The Club” over the years where he enjoyed socializing with many friends. He was a semi-truck driver before retiring. He loved nature and animals of all kinds. Ben spent much of his time in recent years tinkering, puttering and gardening. In his younger days he enjoyed having a good time and was often the life of the party.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jimmie “Jim” Kilgore, nephews Lance Kilgore and Jamie “James” Kilgore and his love Connie Combs.
His survivors include: two sisters, Kathy Roberts and her husband Jerry of Windsor, MO, and M. Jean Kilgore of Independence, MO; son Nathan Kilgore and wife Shelby of El Campo, TX; daughter Nancy Kilgore of Grain Valley, MO; Grandchildren: Zoë and Paige Caroline Evans, Cora, Billy, Harper, Scott and Benjamin Kilgore; one niece and three nephews, bonus family who looked to him as Dad/Papa and may friends that he cared for deeply.
Visitation is Friday August 29, 2025 at 10:00am at Park Lawn and will be followed by the funeral service at 11:00am with internment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sugar Creek Eagles #3717, P.O. Box 8650, Sugar Creek, MO 64054.
