Beryl Gwen Wilson, 90, passed away on January 23, 2026. Beryl (Niblock) Wilson was born on August 12, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri to Herbert and Majorie (Albro) Niblock. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1953.
Beryl Niblock was married to Ronald Wilson on December 11, 1954. They made their home in the Kansas City area while Ron finished his degree at the University of Kansas. They had two family additions, son(s) Barry in 1960, followed by Brian in 1963. Ron’s career took the family from Kansas City, MO to Indianapolis, IN then to Trumbull, CT, back to Kansas City, MO, to Little Rock, AR, and back again to Kansas City, MO. Ron passed away on July 28th, 2024, fulfilling their 59 years of marriage.
Beryl’s lively and outgoing personality was a perfect fit with each company Ron worked, as they traveled as host and hostess to 12 different countries around the world. The fulltime career Beryl chose was taking care of Ron and supporting him in his career, while taking care of home and family. Beryl also contributed working as a secretary for Butler Manufacturing and General Electric in Kansas City, MO, as a sporting goods sales associate for Sears, in Indianapolis, IN, and worked in the Admissions Department at the University of Bridgeport in CT.
After both Ron & Beryl retired, they were active and dedicated members of the Living Church of God and enjoyed attending the Feast events each year.
During her life, Beryl loved the performing arts and community activities. All through school Beryl practiced and danced Adagio with her mom and dad studying Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Modern Dance and more. Beryl was multitalented. She played field hockey at North East High School, was a skillful bowler, creator and organizer of the student school library at Blackburn Elementary school in Independence, MO, member of various garden clubs and women’s clubs, and a board member for the Lee’s Summit North Music Parents Association.
Beryl’s number one hobby was as a life-time member of Sweet Adelines International, starting in 1964. She sang with the Independence, MO Scale Blazer’s Chorus (1964-71), Twin Heritage Chorus in Indianapolis, IN (1971-78), the Yankee Maids Chorus in Bridgeport, CT (1978-81). the Kansas City, MO Chorus Chapter 3 (1981-88), the Top of the Rock chorus in Little Rock, AR (1988-91), moving back to the Kansas City, MO chorus and retiring Chapter at large in 2001. Beryl was well known across the country as a leader, performer, showmanship coach, singing coach, and choreographer for many Chorus and Quartet groups competing in International and Regional Competitions.
Beryl was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Marjorie Niblock, and her brothers, Buddy Niblock and Bruce Niblock.
She is survived by brother John (Jeannie) Niblock, sister-in-laws Dixie Niblock and Jann Niblock, sons Barry Wilson and Brian (Linda) Wilson. Grandchildren: Laura (Sean) Harper, Steven (Crystal) Wilson, Sean (Sadie) Wilson, and Christopher Wilson. Great Grandchildren: Asher, Arthur, and soon to be Millie; Step Great Grandchildren: Riley and Aubrey, and Nephews and Nieces Bradley Niblock, Lori Allen, Joe Niblock and Janae Pruitt.
The visitation is scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, MO 64138, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.
