Bobbie L Harris

Bobbie “Bob” Lee Harris, age 69, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, surrounded by family. Bob was born on November 21, 1955, in Independence, MO to Dale and Evaleen Harris (Lutjen). He graduated from Hickman Mills High School in 1974. He married the love of his life, Diana (Sharpe), in 2004. Bob began working at the Ford Claycomo Plant in 1974 fresh out of high school, retiring in 2006. After retiring he tinkered with a few odd jobs, eventually landing at one of his favorites… school bus driver for the Grain Valley School District. He just loved the kids on his route and they seemed to feel the same.

His children and grandchildren remember him best as the person they could always go to for support and guidance. He was never judgmental and seemed to know just the right words.

He is best known in the family for his sense of humor, rants on Facebook about the Royals or Chiefs, his imitation of Donald Duck, the way he would call everyone when he saw a good deal on bacon at Price Chopper, and, mostly, his ability to point you in the direction of the best pizza in town.

He will be greatly missed by all those he’s met along his earthly journey.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Evaleen Harris. Daughter: Christi Harris, Siblings: Dale Lee Harris Jr., Dennis Harris, and Melinda Meyer.

Bob is survived by his wife, Diana. Siblings: Judy Cleland and Debbie (Tom) Starforth. Daughters: Amber (Tony) Becerra and Kimmy (Adam) Prentice. Grandchildren: Leah, Lexi, Macie, Tierney, Bodhi, Bella, Benson and Great-Grandson Giovanni. In addition to many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Park Lawn Funeral Home on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

We encourage everyone attending to wear their favorite Chiefs shirts or jerseys and/or Chief’s colors. Let’s send him off in style!
