Bonnie Jean Wheeler

          Bonnie Jean (Stafford) Wheeler, 80, of the Kansas City Northland, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2023, at Benton House of Staley Hills with family at her side.

          Bonnie was born October 17, 1942, in Atchison, KS, the eldest of two daughters of George and Maxine Stafford. She graduated from Atchison High School.  Bonnie was united in marriage to Gary Richard “Dick” Wheeler on January 25, 1963, and they were blessed with two children, Jeff and Kelly.  She owned and operated Aristocrat Marble in North Kansas City before she retired. 

          Along with her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Dick; sister, Carol Scott; and grandson, Joel Wheeler.

          Survivors include her children, Jeff Wheeler (Vickie) and Kelly Gann (Carlan); grandchildren, Jenna Gann, Brandon Gann (Kelsey), Jessica Arnold (James), Justin Wheeler (Jessica), Jordan Wheeler (Shyanne), Gage Martin (Brooke), Misty Martin, and Jodie Ohrenberg (Zachary); great grandchildren, Clayton, Jean, David, Alexis, Zoey, William, Lucas, Greyson, Lincoln, Zealand, Nova Lee, Rayna, Sebastian, Kinley, Annaleigh, Brixton, Jaxon, and a great granddaughter due in November.

          Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Thursday, August 3, and funeral services 10:30 am Friday, August 4, all at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO.  Graveside service will follow the funeral at 1:00 pm at Sunset Memory Gardens in Atchison, KS.
