Carl Gene Slusser 81, of Independence, MO passed away, April 29, 2026.

He was born on February 8, 1945 to William Slusser and Addie (Purvis) Slusser in Kansas City, Missouri. He grew up in Kansas City and Raytown Missouri and graduated from Raytown High School. Carl then served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

On February 17, 1968 he was united in marriage to Linda Sue Beam. After their marriage they lived in Independence where they made their home.

Carl worked as a Field Engineer for Eastman Kodak for 25+ years.

He was a member of the Webb City Elks Lodge.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Nancy, and his brother, Bill.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda, his daughter, Andrea Phillips (David Hurshman), his son, Ed Slusser (Angela) and 3 grandsons, Hayden Phillips, Nathan Slusser, and Collin Slusser; two nieces and a nephew, other relatives and many friends.

Inurnment at a later date at Clinton Cemetery outside Lawrence, KS.
