Carla Lynn Oberfoell (Sedgwick), 60, of Liberty, MO, beloved mother to three beautiful daughters, passed away of salivary gland cancer at North Care Hospice House on May 14th, 2025, surrounded by loving family and friends.
She was born on December 16th, 1964, in Independence, MO to Jim and Lola Sedgwick. Carla attended Liberty High School, class of 1983, before entering the workforce as a dedicated customer service representative but her most important role being raising and caring for her beautiful daughters, all her bonus children, her adorable grandchildren and fur babies.
Carla was a devoted mother to Heather, Jaime, and Kristen her pride and joy. She always said their birth changed her life for the better, and they felt that in the love and support she provided. Carla took special joy in creating a fun and loving home environment, and had fond memories of dancing, singing, and laughing with her children, big sister, best friend and all her family, and friends.
Carla was preceded in death by her beloved parents Jim and Lola Sedgwick, her brother Steve Sedgwick, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles. She is survived by her husband, Greg Oberfoell, daughters, Heather Hudnall (Vance), Jaime Jensen, Kristen Jensen, grandchildren, Trey Gabrielli, Carson Rodick, Cayden Dallas, Joslynn Edmiston, Kaci Spease, her sister Lori Kesner (Jeff), her soul-sister and lifelong best friend, Pamela Cummins (Matt), and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins who will never forget the love and joy she brought to their lives.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, May 23rd, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:00 am with funeral service to follow immediately afterward. Visitation and funeral services will be held at Park Lawn Funeral Home North, 1640 N. State Rte 291, Liberty, MO 64068. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carla’s life and wear her favorite color purple if you would like. Burial will be at Glenridge Cemetery, B Hwy, Liberty, MO 64068 in an intimate gathering of family and close friends.
The family would also like to thank the amazing staff and caregivers at KU Cancer Center, NKC Hospital, and North Care Hospice House for their wonderful efforts, care and dedication in caring for Carla throughout her hard-fought journey.
