Carlos Arturo “Ernesto Rolando” Pezantes, 56, died peacefully on June 12, 2025 with his family by his side. Ernesto was born on August 21, 1969, in Lima, Peru to Carmen Judith Nunez and Victor Manuel Pezantes.

Ernesto grew up in Peru, where he loved spending time with his family and playing in his hometown in Bellavista, Callao, Peru (La Quinta Pilsenista) with loved ones and friends. At the age of 17, he joined the Armed Services in Peru. Around the age of 19 years old, he moved to the United States to be closer to his immediate family who had migrated here, beginning a new chapter in his life. He started his profession as a firefighter with the Perth Amboy Fire Department in NJ and in 1996 began what would become a nearly three-decade-long career with Ford Motor Company, a company he deeply respected and truly enjoyed being a part of. In 1997, Ernesto proudly welcomed his daughter, Destiny Pezantes, who brought tremendous joy and purpose into his life. Until his retirement in 2023, Ernesto built a respected and rewarding career at Ford, contributing to the assembling, procurement, and building of Ford vehicles. After his retirement, he would volunteer his time and himself to helping others and was a proud service missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He took great pride in his work and in the people he worked alongside as a member of the church.

His family remembers him as a caring, kind, loving, and funny father, son, brother, uncle, and friend who welcomed everyone with open arms and left a positive impact on those who crossed paths with him. Ernesto was known for his honesty, goofiness, and unapologetic authenticity. He embraced everyone for who they were, without judgment. He was a generous and compassionate man who was deeply passionate about serving God and helping everyone he could.

He is preceded in death by his father, Victor Manuel Pezantes, his uncle, Carlos Arturo Garcia, and his Godfather Alberto Sanjinez.

Ernesto is survived by his mother, Carmen Judith; his siblings, Orlando, Oscar, Walter, and Ana; his daughter, Destiny Pezantes; his nieces and nephews, Shirley, Leslie, Aileen, Italo, Fiorella, Allison, Sussan, Gianella, Gerson, Kiefer, and Romario, as well as a host of other close relatives and friends.

A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, June 16th at 10:00 AM CST at 1130 N. Clayview Dr. Liberty, MO 64068. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ernesto’s life. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual option will be available to join the service remotely.
