Carol Lineberry

 January 4, 1951 – October 28, 2025

After a courageous yearlong battle with leiomyosarcoma, Carol Lineberry passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, at the age of 74, surrounded by family at the Kansas City Hospice House.

Born in Chillicothe, Missouri, Carol was the daughter of Richard “Ray” and Erma “Mildred” Guilford. She spent her formative years on the family farm in Hale, Missouri. Carol graduated from high school in Hale and went on to attend Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg.

Carol’s love story with her husband, John, began in their hometown of Hale. They reconnected after John’s return from the Navy and were married in 1974 in Liberty, Missouri. Together, they built a life filled with love, adventure, and devotion. After years of traveling for John’s career, they settled in Raymore, Missouri, where they raised their two children, Clint and Monica.

Carol was a proud working wife and mother, dedicating much of her professional life to Sprint as a skilled contract negotiator. As her children grew, she discovered a passion for golf, which became a beloved part of her retirement years. She and John retired to a home on a golf course in Fremont Hills, where Carol thrived in the ladies golf league, enjoyed winters in Florida with dear friends, relaxed on her front porch, and cheered enthusiastically for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Carol is lovingly remembered by her brother Dickie; her son Clint and his wife Jessica; her daughter Monica and her husband Nathan; and her grandsons John and Jake. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Erma, and her brother Larry.

Carol will be deeply missed by her family and friends and forever remembered. A Celebration of Life will be held at Oak Ridge Family Social Club, located at 5330 NE Oak Ridge Dr., Kansas City, MO 64119 on Saturday, November 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
