Carol Jean Robey

d. August 1, 2025

Kansas City

Carol Jean (DeHart) Robey, age 88, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on August 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was born on June 12, 1937, in Weatherby, Missouri. Carol was the daughter of Leslie Eugene DeHart and Vera Lucille (Washam) DeHart, sister to Vera Louise (DeHart) Lindsay. After grade school Carol and her family moved to Liberty MO where she graduated from Liberty High School in 1955. She later continued her education at the Midwest Theological Seminary.

Carol had a strong work ethic, serving over the years as an accounts payable associate at the Jones Store, Sinclair Oil & Gas, and Van Kampen Investment Company. Later, she worked for the North Kansas City School District as a beloved lunch lady and Youth Friends after-school mentor.

Carol found immense joy in helping children, and her caring spirit was evident in every interaction. She also volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital, offering kindness and care to those in need. A woman of deep faith, Carol was a very active member of Northgate Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she joyfully served as a Sunday school teacher and was an example of Christ's love in action. Carol was married to the love of her life, John Robert Robey, for 66 wonderful years. Carol and John loved to travel. They often visited Branson to attend Country music shows. Carol and John's passion for travel took them on numerous flights abroad and across the United States. Carol's most cherished adventures were their two week family trip across Europe and their final trip to Hawaii with her children and grandchildren.

Together Carol and John lovingly raised their daughter, Christy Kaye (Robey) Ferrara (husband Robert Joseph Ferrara), and son, Kyle Leslie Robey (wife Kathleen Marie (Butler) Robey). She was a proud grandmother to Jeanette Christyne (Hamlet) Potter, Katelyn Elizabeth Robey, Konnor Jackson Robey, Colette Renee Ferrara and Carl Joseph Ferrara.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, grandson baby Jack Robey and sister Vera Louise Lindsay.
