Carrie Lynn (Stark) Nicholson, 52, of Appleton City, MO, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025. Carrie was born on Sept 14, 1972 in Kansas City, MO to Charles Michael ‘Mike’ Stark and Pamela Ann Stark. She welcomed her treasured daughter Baleigh Kay Ann Noble with Ronald Noble in May 2000. In April 2006 she fell in love with Arthur Nicholson, the pair married in May of 2015. Carrie loved to sit on her porch and watch the animals on their farm in Osceola MO.
Carrie was as individual as they come, a dedicated mother, wife, and friend. She was a fighter from the time she was born, defying odds time and time again against Cystic Fibrosis. Carrie was a warrior of fierce determination, strength, and will. She received a double lung transplant in June 2018, giving her new life and much opportunity to fulfill her dreams of spending more time with those she loved, especially her horses.
Those who knew Carrie knew she had a bright sense of humor and an extraordinarily large heart. She spent much of her life creating lasting memories and a full life with her daughter Baleigh. She was also passionate about rescuing dogs, cats, horses, goats, and even chickens lucky enough to find themselves in her loving home. She had a wonderful way of reaching people and her imprint on those hearts who knew her will not soon be forgotten.
Carrie is preceded in death by her parents Mike and Pam Stark, Mother-in-Law Carol King, her grandmothers Frances ‘Peggy” Stark and Elizabeth ‘Betty” Sabin.
Left to cherish Carrie’s memory are her beloved daughter Baleigh Noble, devoted husband Arthur Nicholson, step-sons Arthur Nicholson III and Tyler Noble, step-daughter Brittani Noble and several grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her pets, her family, friends and all who were fortunate to know her.
We will celebrate Carrie’s life 12:00-2:00 Sunday, May 18th at 10825 Ayers Ave, Independence, MO 64052. Bring a lawn chair so you can sit and share your memories with others!
