Charlene was born June 9, 1938 to Frank and Marie Brown in Kansas City, Missouri. 

She is survived by her son Darrell (Jane) Kidd, Sisters Joyce (Dewayne) Hammack, Bonnie (Charles) Moore, Nieces Monica Carroll, Lisa (David) Warden, Chris Sibon, Susan Besser, Nephews Mitchell Moore and Steven Hammack, Granddaughter Alice (David) Morgan, and Great granddaughters Madeleine Morgan and Angelena Morgan.
