His Story
Rev. Charles Deltha Bell, Jr. departed his earthly journey on August 28, 2024. He was the 1st of 6 children born to Charles and Margarett Bell on November 30, 1944. He attended and graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, MO. He served his country as a Sargent in the Marines but chose not to pursue a military career. He worked at Ford Motor Company as a driver and stockman from 1967 – 2009.
He accepted Christ at an early age and worked faithfully in the ministry. He was a member of Community Mission Baptist Church, founded and pastored by his father, the late Rev. Charles D. Bell, Sr. When his father was ill, he helped him pastor the church. He later founded and pastored Risen Lord Mission Church and led a radio ministry. He donated to various charities, and he also distributed “Our Daily Bread” devotional booklets to various businesses, organizations and people in need of spiritual nourishment. When he was physically unable to deliver them, he encouraged his family members to keep the distribution going. He loved to stay positive about all things and always replied “Fantastic” when asked how he was doing. He even put the word “Fantastik” on his vehicle license plate.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Margarett Bell; his brother, Clifford Bell, Sr.; and his grandparents, Cirtillius and Gyler Brown. He leaves to mourn his passing three daughters, Toshia Stokes, Stephanie Bell and Carla Bell; 1 grandson Alvin Stokes, Jr.; two sisters, Jeanette Wallace, Leavenworth, KS., and Eartherline Downs, Independence, MO, two brothers, James C. Bell (Carolyn), King George, VA, and Darryl Bell (Annette) Kansas City, MO and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
