Charles Steven “Steve” Bosley, 65, of Birmingham, Missouri, entered into the presence of our Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 18, 2026, at North Care Hospice House at North Kansas City Hospital.
Steve was born on September 25, 1960, at North Kansas City Hospital to Charles Edward Bosley and Helen Francine Bosley (Peppers). In a remarkable full-circle moment, Steve’s life began and ended in the same place nearly sixty-six years apart.
Steve grew up in Atherton, Missouri, and graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1979.
He worked as a trailer mechanic with Caravan Trailer for more than twenty years, beginning in 2002. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to help others.
In 2006, Steve met Dena Weatherd, and the two shared twenty years of life together.
Steve was a Harley enthusiast who enjoyed riding his Heritage Softail. He was also a devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan. On game day, family and friends could count on a call or text from Steve making sure they had their “red on.”
If there was one thing that defined Steve’s life, it was this: he showed up.
If there was a graduation, wedding, hospital stay, family reunion, barbecue, school event, or ballgame, Steve was there. He loved his family deeply and demonstrated that love not merely with words, but through his presence.
One of his favorite expressions was, “Thank You, Jesus.” Though imperfect like all of us, Steve placed his faith in Jesus, in whom he found strength and hope.
Steve is survived by his fiancée of twenty years, Dena Weatherd; his son, Chad Bosley, and wife, Samantha, of Liberty, Missouri; his daughter, Debra Lynn Bennett, and husband, David, of Kansas City, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Kynlee, Brooke, Lilly, Charlie, Barrett, Briahna, and Loren; his sister, Debbie; Dena’s daughter, Ashley, and her sons, Liam and Lucas; nieces Cori and husband Brian, and Cheyenne; and many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward Bosley and Helen Francine Bosley (Peppers), and his grandson, Archer James “AJ” Bosley.
While his family grieves his absence, they rejoice in the assurance that Steve is now whole, healed, and in the presence of his Savior. His legacy lives on through the family he loved, the friendships he treasured, and the countless lives he touched simply by showing up.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Nashua Baptist Church, 11408 N Main Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64155. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at 6:00 p.m.
