Charles Michael, age 76, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024. Charles “Mike” was born on July 23, 1948 to parents Charles Franklin and Kathleen Hurlbut Heritage in Kansas City, MO. 

Mike was a 1966 graduate of Raytown South High School. After High School, Mike married his wife Janice Elaine Muzingo-Heritage on June 15, 1966 and then went to work at Ford Motor Company in Claycomo where he worked for 35 years before he retired in 2002. After retirement, Mike moved to Warsaw, MO where he drove a school bus for a short time and then drove for OATS. 

 Over the years, Mike had several hobbies that ranged from freshwater fish aquariums, photography, and even driving modified sprint cars. He enjoyed going on cruises with his wife, friends, and family and had many adventures with those he loved over the years. Most recently, Mike spent his time watching the Royals and Chiefs sports teams and creating 3D prints on his multiple 3D printers. 

Mike is survived by his wife, Janice Heritage, his daughters Lezlie Diane Ensor and her husband Ken, and Shelly Sue Heritage-Paxson and her husband Larry. He also leaves behind a brother, Gary Heritage, and a sister, Vicki Pinegar. In addition to four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mike was predeceased by his father, mother, and his son, Carey Michael Heritage. 

Services will be held at Park Lawn Funeral Home on Thursday, September 19th from 6 pm until 8 pm.
