Earlene Lewis

March 6, 1936 — June 10, 2023

Kearney Missouri

Clara Earlene (Harding) Lewis, 87, of Kearney, MO, entered the gates of Heaven to join the love of her life, Milfred Lee Lewis, on June 10, 2023. Milfred and Earlene were happily married 58 years. She also joins her father Elmer Earl Harding, mother Clara Elizabeth (Robinson) Harding and sister (best friend ever) Elizabeth (Betty) Rose (Harding) Howard.

Earlene leaves behind so many people that adored her and will miss her dearly: her children, Keith Lewis and Bob Jennings, Elizabeth Denice and Randy Sheek, Donata and Darrell Whitlock; her grandchildren, Quinn and Adam Stephens, Casey and Ben Thomason, Kameron Sheek and Kameron Gall, Kane Sheek, Nicole and John Mosier, and Nathan and Renè Whitlock; great grandchildren, Aria, Everly, Ada Mae, Whitlee, Wyatt, Miles, Athena, Annie, Arlo and Liam; her little “sis” Marilynn (Lewis) and husband Lary Witcher; and so many others, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Earlene spent her early years as a model for Pecks in downtown Kansas City. She had a sense of style like no other, head to toe matching colors, jewelry and shoes.  Her career quickly came to an end in 1955 when she met a handsome, dark haired man named Milfred Lee, but her style prevailed!

Earlene is a graduate of Northeast High School, member of Winnwood Baptist Church, was a Girl Scout leader, Sunday School teacher, room mother, wedding cake maker, party planner, festive holiday fun maker, Hallmark movie watcher, dog and cat lover, and also a specialized salve maker for any boo-boo any kid ever had. Earlene‘s greatest joy was being a mother, a grandmother and great grandmother. She was an amazing babysitter to them, a cookie and candy supplier, ice cream disher, kid complimenter, baby rocker, chief toddler feeder, nursery rhyme singer, and a kiss on the little head giver! She loved children and prayed for all children of the world every night.
