Cora Jean Goodman

          Cora Jean Goodman, 93, passed peacefully on September 30, 2023, at Liberty Health and Wellness with family at her side.

          Cora Jean was born August 1, 1930, in West Plains, MO, one of ten children of Jacob and Cora (Eblen) Combs.  She graduated from Bolivar High School in Bolivar, MO.  Cora enjoyed playing the piano and as a young girl would sing with her sisters, Nola and Wilma at their Assembly of God Church in Bolivar, Missouri.  Cora was united in marriage to Richard Wayne Goodman in 1950, and they were blessed with seven children.  Cora worked many jobs once her children were in school, initially for the Mast telephone company and later she enjoyed working with people in customer service jobs before she retired. Most importantly, she was a loving mother and grandmother.

          Along with her parents, Cora was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Goodman; son, Max Goodman; grandchildren, Gwen Goodman, and Benjamin Porter; an infant great granddaughter Teresa McLain, nine siblings, and her companion for ten years, Anthony Penque.

          Survivors include six children, Hank Goodman (Cyndy), Linda Goodman, Rick Goodman (Carol Blythe), Julie Henggeler, Jake Goodman (Kathy), and Angie Porter (Richard); nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.   She also leaves nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

          Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm, followed by a service at 3:00 pm, on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty.
