Curtis Ross Pyles

Curtis Ross Pyles, 70, of Liberty, MO, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025 in Liberty, MO.

Curtis was born on June 7, 1955 in St. Joseph, MO to Robert E. Pyles and Mary L. Pyles. Bob and Mary moved their family to Excelsior Springs, MO when Curtis was in elementary school, and this is where he started his own family.

Curtis graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in May 1973. Just 3 short months later, he began his pipe fitter indoctrination and completed his training in 1978. Curtis met his closest friends through this apprenticeship. Many of them immediately became his lifelong brothers, and remained by Curtis' side since day one. One thing Curtis was very proud of was that he and his son, Travis, are lifelong members of the PipeFitter Local 533.

Curtis and Cindy Pyles (ex-wife) have two children together - Travis and Kimberly. Curtis was always just a call away for his kids. He would do anything for them. Curtis was a very hands-on dad when it came to his children and their love of sports. From coaching their teams, to making sure they had the best cleats, gloves, bats, etc. - anything his kids needed, or wanted, he made sure to provide for them in every way possible.

Curtis is preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. Pyles and Mary L. Pyles.

Curtis is survived by his wife, Cheryl A. Novick, of Liberty, MO. Curtis and Cheryl were married in August 2015 in a beautiful ceremony in their backyard. What began as a lengthy friendship, grew into a deep love for one another. Curtis took great pride in his family, especially his children, Travis R. Pyles, of Kearney, MO and Kimberly M. Pyles, Pleasant Valley, MO.

Services will be held on . Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 31, 2025 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 1640 Rte 291, Liberty, MO followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.. Interment will be held at Glenridge Cemetery, 2406 State Highway B (Shepherd Rd), Liberty, MO.
