David E. Coleman, 87, passed peacefully at home in the presence of family on Thursday, June 12, 2025. David was born on April 24, 1938 in Poteau, OK to Earl and Marie Coleman. His family moved to Stockton, CA in the mid 1940’s where David graduated high school at Stockton Junior College. He went on to serve in the United States Navy, after which he married the beautiful Mona Simpson in September 1958. David’s career as a title examiner spanned 38 years until his retirement at age 62. David and Mona raised four children. Later in life, they enjoyed various cruises and international trips. David completed the missions program at Sunset School of Preaching in Lubbock, TX. He was a Christian and an active and dedicated member of the Church of Christ in which he served as a deacon and an elder. Five years ago, they left California to join children living in Texas, then moved to Liberty, MO last year.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Marie Coleman.

David leaves his wife of 66 years, Mona (Simpson); children, Anna-Marie Head (Douglas), Allen Coleman, Vernon Coleman, Alice Mimms (Brian), sister Connie Woodall; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.

David will be lovingly remembered as a humble and kind man, a Christian who put other’s needs before his own and always asked “What can I do for you?” and looked for the good in people. He will be greatly missed by many.

Memorial Services will be  1:00pm, Saturday June 21, 2025 at Park Lawn Northland Chapel (1640 Route 291 Highway, Liberty, MO 64068).  Inurnment will be in the Fort Sill National Cemetery, Fort Sill, OK.at a later date.
