David Hoyt Kelley

           David Hoyt Kelley, 89, a former longtime resident of Liberty and recently of Wexford Place, passed away July 18, 2023, at NorthCare Hospice House.

          David was born January 9, 1934, in Pineville, MO, the middle of three children of Floyd J. Kelley and Imogene (Hoyt) Kelley.  Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by his stepmother, Olive Kelley, and two sisters, Nadelle Phillips and Judy Montgomery. He was united in marriage to Rose Mary Bradbury on August 5, 1960.

          David graduated from Butler High School in Butler, MO, and later received his bachelor’s degree from Central Missouri State University.  At CMSU he was a member of Acacia fraternity. David served in the US Air Force, receiving honorable discharge as an Airman First Class in 1956. 

David’s career with Ford Motor Company spanned 30-plus years before retiring from Parts Procurement in 1990.  David was an Honorary Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Rose Mary Kelley; children, Carolyn Kelley, Mark Kelley (Karen Jame), Bill Kelley (Julie) and Kathi Brewer (Cullen); seven grandchildren, a great granddaughter and a second great granddaughter due in October; as well as other family members and friends. 

Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm, followed by a service celebrating David’s life at 3:00 pm, on Saturday, July 22, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 North State Route 291, Liberty, MO.  Burial will follow at Glenridge Cemetery.
