David Ray Rader

           David Ray Rader, 67, of Independence, MO, passed away September 12, 2023, at North Kansas City Hospital with family at his side.

          David was born August 4, 1956, in Jamesport, MO, the son of Raymond E. and Lillie M. (Selby) Rader.  He grew up in Jamesport and Hamilton and graduated from high school in Hamilton. He later served in the US Navy on Midway Island during the Vietnam era, receiving honorable discharge on December 19, 1975.  David received his degree as a Registered Nurse from Northwest Missouri State University and later finished his bachelor’s degree from Webster University. He worked many years as a Registered Nurse in area hospitals, the last 14 years at the VA Medical Center. He retired in 2016 due to his declining heart health.

          David was united in marriage to Sarah-Ann Looman on February 14, 2002. Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by two brothers, Elbert and Robert Rader.  He leaves his wife of 21 years, Sarah; children, Jessi (Jeff), Christina, Dakota (Tori), Daniella, and Emily; eight grandchildren; siblings, Larry (Rosa), Leona, Lori, and Alice; as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

          A memorial visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, on Wednesday, September 20, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 North State Route 291, Liberty, MO.
