David Lee Talbot

February 22, 1947 — October 9, 2025

Gladstone

David Lee Talbot, 78, of Gladstone, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. David was born on February 22, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Sarah Ledeen and David Talbot.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970. Following his military service, he began a long and dedicated career as an electrician on the railroad, where he worked from 1971 until his retirement in 2007.

On November 17, 2000, David married the love of his life, Gale Talbot. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family. David is survived by his wife, Gale; his children, Anne Beaudry (Kevin), David Talbot (Kelly), Lindsey Brandenburg (Wes), and Niki Bass (Kirk); his sister, Mary Totten; and his cherished grandchildren, Katie, Adam, Gabby, Breanna, Owen, Amanda, Jayden, Nicholas, and Brooklyn. David will be remembered for his quick wit, warm humor, and generous heart.

He loved the outdoors, treasured time spent with his family and could always be found with a hot cup of coffee in hand while cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. A hard worker and lifelong problem-solver, David was always up for a challenge. It was rare to visit without finding a Western or an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond playing in the background.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, MO 64138. Burial with military honors will follow at 2:00 PM at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, 20109 Business Highway 13, Higginsville, MO 64037.

David’s legacy of love, humor, and strength will live on in all who knew him
