Donald Lee Brassfield, of Greenwood, Missouri, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 25, 2026. He will be remembered with love by his family and friends, and especially by the many lives he touched through his faith, talent, and kindness.

Donald is survived by his brother Harrison Allen Brassfield and his wife Mary, of Kansas City, Missouri and sister Thelma Irene Brassfield, of Kansas City, Missouri

Donald was preceded in death by his parents Harrison William Brassfield and Wilma Irene Brassfield his brother David Charles Brassfield

Donald Brassfield was a deeply gifted musician who learned to play at just five years old. Early in life, he dedicated this talent to serving the Lord at the Victoria Tabernacle Church under the guidance of Senior Pastor H.W. Barnett. In the summer of 1954, at the age of sixteen, Donald joined Rev. Tommy Barnett who now serves as the senior pastor of the Dream Center in Phoenix, Arizona in evangelistic missionary work across multiple states. By 1957, at age nineteen, Donald transitioned to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he served as the Fine Arts Director for Rev. Thea Jones at the Old Metropolitan Opera House.

In 1962, Donald returned to his hometown and began a successful career with the House of Commons, selling Cosmic Diamonds throughout the Los Angeles district before later transferring to the home office in Kansas City, Missouri.

Donald began a meaningful new chapter in 1997 when he joined the team at Park Lawn Funeral Home. According to Hank DeVry and the staff, there will never be another salesman quite like Don. His thoughtful, kind gestures to the families he served left a lasting impression across generations, and clients frequently requested to speak with "Don" personally. He never forgot to send his clients a special birthday and holiday greeting card. After decades of dedicated service, Donald retired on January 30, 2024, at the age of eighty-five.

Donald also had a sincere love for travel. He visited many places throughout the United States and overseas, and his favorite destination was Hawaii.

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend the visitation for Donald from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel (1640 Rt. M-291 Hwy, Liberty, MO 64068). Following the visitation, Cryptside Services will be held at 11:30 AM at the Forest Hill Mausoleum (located at Gregory Boulevard and Troost Avenue, Kansas City, MO).
