Pastor Lindy Reed

November 13, 1960 — May 6, 2025

Dr. Lindell Gordon Reed, affectionately known as "Lindy", was called home to be with the Lord on May 6, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, compassionate leadership, and profound love for his family and community.

Born on November 13, 1960, Lindy dedicated his life to serving others through his ministry. As the esteemed pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Oak Grove, Missouri, he was a guiding light to his congregation, known for his heartfelt sermons and genuine care for each member of his church family. Lindy had an unwavering passion for evangelism, dedicating his life to winning souls for Jesus and spreading the gospel wherever he went.

Lindy was a proud graduate of Southwest Baptist University, where he met the love of his life, Annette Reed. Following his graduation, he continued his theological studies at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Luther Rice Seminary, where he obtained his doctorate. Together, he and Annette created a warm and loving home filled with faith and joy.

An avid outdoorsman, Lindy found solace and joy in hunting and fishing. His love for nature was only surpassed by his devotion to his children and grandchildren. He took immense pride in baptizing all three of his children-Tara, Tesa, and Tyler- and later, four of his cherished grandchildren.

One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his five granddaughters, Kylie, Kaylynn, Kennah, Genevieve, and Giuliana. Whether he was helping them fish, cheering them on at sporting events, watching their performances, or simply spending time with them, he was their biggest fan. He loved to share their accomplishments with others- often bragging about them and showing off their latest pictures. His love for his granddaughters was boundless, and the memories made with "Pappy" will be cherished forever.

Lindy's warmth and approachability made him unforgettable. Known for his extraordinary punctuality, he often arrived early to events, always ready with a smile and a story! He never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to make people feel instantly welcome and known.

Lindy is survived by his loving wife, Annette Reed of Blue Springs, MO; his children, Tara Titus (Chris) and Tesa Guevel (Joe), both of Oak Grove, MO, and Tyler Reed of Blue Springs, MO; his parents, Floyd and Sharon Reed of Raytown, MO; his siblings, Lori Neuhart (Dave), Randy Reed (Jean Ann), and Kerry Reed (Lori); his sisters-in-law, Monica Marshall (Scott) and Vicki Edzards; his cherished grandchildren, Kylie, Kaylynn, and Kennah Titus, and Genevieve and Giuliana Guevel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lindy's life was marked by service, joy, and faith. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the countless hearts he helped lead toward Christ.

In Lieu of flowers, the Reed family suggests donations be made to the Lindy Reed Evangelistic Association.
