Ella Mae Barr-Jones, age 94, passed into the arms of her Savior on May 4, 2025. Ella was born on January 20, 1931, in Dixon, Missouri to Joseph Lige and Mary Elizabeth Helms. Ella married Lourence S. Barr, a handsome Navy Sailor, on July 20, 1946. They moved to Kansas City where they started their life together. Ella’s sparkling personality led to careers in multiple sales positions, William Jewel College Administration and office manager at Pioneer Tire Company in Tampa, Florida. Ella and Lourence’s passion for adventure in construction led to the waterfront community, on The Lake of the Ozarks, where they developed Barr Harbor. Ella was a long-time member of Providence Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. Ella and Lourence had three children, James, John and Lisa. Her children remember her as a loving mother who supported them in all their endeavors. She was a generous woman who never met a stranger.
Ella is preceded in death by Lourence Barr, John Jones, stepson Doral Jones, four brothers, one sister and her parents.
