Obituary

Celebrating the Life of Emma Grace Emmett

Our beautiful mama, Emma Grace Emmett, 88, returned home to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on August 18, 2026. She passed away peacefully in her home, wrapped in the warmth and love of her family.

Emma was born on October 26, 1937, in Maryville, Tennessee, to Jess Elmo Fuller and Nina Bell Dale Fuller. On January 15, 1951, she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Lloyd Nimon Emmett. Their beautiful bond was later sealed for eternity in the sacred St. George LDS Temple. Together, they were blessed with nine children, establishing a home that was a sanctuary of laughter, love, forgiveness, charity, and devoted service to the Lord.

To know Emma was to be touched by her light. Affectionately known by those closest to her as “Chugs” or “Short legged woman,” she possessed an infectious smile, twinkling eyes, and a joyful spirit that could brighten any room. She was an avid gardener who found God’s handiwork in beautiful flowers and the singing of birds.

Beneath her gentle nature, however, lived a fierce competitor. Emma was—and will forever remain—the undefeated arm-wrestling champion of the family. Countless brave souls tried to take her title over the decades, but none ever succeeded.

Emma’s entire life was anchored by her unwavering testimony and love for the gospel of Jesus Christ. As a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she lived her faith through her boundless, unconditional love for her massive posterity. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved fiercely and completely. She truly fought the good fight, finished her race, and kept the faith.

Emma is joyfully reunited in eternity with her beloved husband Lloyd Nimon Emmett, Her parents, Jess Elmo Fuller and Nina Bell Dale (Fuller), Her infant sister, Ruby Alice Fuller, her sons, Jerry Elmo Emmett and Christopher Nimon Emmett, her son-in-laws: Marvin James Jr. and Ronald Wayne Morris, Sr.

Emma's beautiful legacy of love lives on through the family who cherishes her memory her daughters: Debi Emmett Heitman and husband Michael, Excelsior Springs, MO, Freda Joan Emmett James, Liberty, MO, Nina Delores Emmett Campbell and husband Danny, Liberty, MO. Her sons: James Lloyd Emmett, Rayville, MO, Michael Anthony Emmett and wife Shayla, Wichita, KS, David Richard Emmett and wife Tina, St. George, UT, John Hamilton Emmett and wife Juliann, Layton, UT. One brother: Jess E. Fuller and wife Carma, Layton, UT, Mary Nell Fuller Railo and husband Bill, Plains, PA, Becky Fuller Christensen and husband Brent, Welton, AZ. Her incredible crown of 149 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Emma's remarkable life on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel (1130 N. Clayview Drive, Liberty, MO 64068). Visitation is from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM immediately followed by Funeral Services beginning at 11:00AM. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to University Health and Good Shepherd Hospice for the tender, excellent care and comfort they provided to Emma in her final days.
