Eunice Louise (Embry) Ohap, 83, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee’s Summit Road, Independence, MO. A visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 AM prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial and contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Louise was born on May 6, 1940 in Hamburg, Arkansas to Woodrow Pete and Lucy Bell (Mooney) Embry. She grew up in Warren, Arkansas and graduated from Warren High School 1958. On July 20, 1963, she was united in marriage to Martin Ohap at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Florida, New York. Louise worked for many years as an auditor for Macy’s Department Stores and various office positions for The Jones Store and Meyer Metalcraft. She was a 50+ year member of her sorority Beta Sigma Phi and 30+ years in the World Clown Association and held many positions in both groups. She enjoyed visiting many nursing homes and school being able to cheer up many of the residents and children while she was in the World Clown Association.
Louise loved her jewelry and bling! She was able to repair lots of jewelry for people over the years. She had a collection of many guardian angels. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and going on cruises especially to the Caribbean and beaches.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Connie Lynn Embry; and a brother, Woodrow “Doyle” Embry. She is survived by her husband, Martin “Marty” Ohap; daughter, Lana Todd; son, Doug Ohap; grandchildren, Lindsy, Tanner, and Lila Todd; sister, Lora Colin and her husband David; and nieces and nephews, Adam Quigley, Larissa Jeslis, Joshua Quigley.
