Galen Michael
Collum
October 12, 1980 – March 4, 2026
Galen Michael Collum, 45 of Excelsior Springs Missouri started his eternal journey with the Lord on March 4, 2026, with his mother by his side.
Michael was born October 12, 1980, the middle of three children to John and Donna Collum. Michael graduated from Excelsior Springs High School. After graduating he went on to work in the sales field with a passion for the car industry. Michael loved his family and friends deeply. His greatest achievement in life was being the father to both of his boys, Leland and Mathis. He would always beam with pride while on the sidelines cheering them on at their sporting events and activities, but loved nothing more than just spending time with them. Michael could also be found cheering on his nieces at their school and sporting events in the front row.
Michael was a light to all who were lucky enough to know him. He had a way of bringing people together with his caring heart, contagious smile, jokes, and laughter that would fill the room. He would always check in on his family and friends and was willing to help out any time he could. He enjoyed volunteering at camp MITIOG several years and cherished the bonds and friendships he made during those times. He was an active member of the Community of Christ Church.
Some of his loved ones that proceeded him in death are his father John Collum, his grandparents Galen and Irene Tevis, John and Natalie Collum, as well as his aunt Becky Collum.
He is survived by his sons Leland and Mathis Collum (Novella Ricketts-Collum), mother Donna Collum, brother Jeremy Collum, sister Chandra (Vince) Spero, nieces Isabella and Rosalee Spero and numerous other family and friends.
