Georgia Delores Holter passed away at home, Saturday, June 14, 2025, in Independence, MO, leaving a void her family can never fill.

She was born in Grandview, MO, on May 3, 1931, to Ida Mae (Zumwalt) Smith & George Washington Smith. She was one of six children. Her siblings were Robert, Hazel, Dorothy, Ardena and Henry.

Georgia was a loving and devoted mother to Debbie Mahoney and Gary Frazier, but also a special mother figure to her stepson, Jeff Holter. She was a strong matriarch for her family and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren at the many activities and family gatherings.

Georgia married Curt Holter in 1968 and shared 53 years happily married to him until his passing in 2021. Her family grew over the years to include 13 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, & 17 great great grandchildren. Her legacy of love will live on through them.

Georgia began her work life as a homemaker then worked as an insurance clerk for many years. She later in life started a home day care, taking care of many sweet children including several of her own grandchildren.

She and Curt were active members in the Ararat Shrine Temple for numerous years. Additionally, Georgia was involved with several lady’s groups who helped plan and organize events. She and Curt enjoyed many activities including square dancing, and the annual Ararat Shrine Circus where Curt participated as a clown. They shared so many memories in their extensive traveling on their own and with their Shriner friends. They traveled to Spain, Mexico, Holland, Hawaii and saw even more destinations on their cruise vacations.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, Ida and George Smith; her son, Danny Frazier; her spouse, Curt Holter; as well as her siblings: Robert, Hazel, Dorothy, Ardena and Henry.

Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Mahoney; son, Gary Frazier, and his wife, Sheryl; stepson, Jeff Holter, and his wife, Tracy; grandchildren and their spouses: Erin & Zak Forlow, Megan & Zach Jagow, Sean & Laura Mahoney, Patrick & Lisa Mahoney, Chris & Marisa Frazier, Michael Frazier, Peggy & Korey Steele, Shawn & Terry Frazier, Stacey & David Ritter, Stephanie Miller, Jeff & Samantha Holter, Michael & Melisa Holter, Vannessa Holter; plus an extensive number of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

Her love for all of us will live on in us as we carry on her legacy to make sure her memory lives on forever.
