Georgia L. Meyer

October 13, 1943 — April 5, 2025

Raymore

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Georgia L Meyer, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cherished neighbor who left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Georgia lived a life defined by beauty and order. Her immaculate home was legendary among friends and family – a place where dirt dared not settle and where every surface gleamed with care. This attention to detail reflected her belief that our surroundings shape our experiences.

Her garden was her outward canvas. She tended to her flowers with the same devotion she showed to her loved ones, believing that everyone should have blooms in their lives and fairy homes amongst them.

Her kitchen was a place of warmth and creation. She shared her culinary gifts generously, understanding that breaking bread, cake and cookies together strengthens bonds in ways words cannot.

Books were her constant companions and book club was another one of her joys. Through reading, she traveled through the world and time. Of course, she also loved to travel, especially to meet up with friends and family wherever they were.

Georgia is survived by her husband Gary, children Bill (Terri) and Staci (Greg), her grandchildren Abigail, Zachary and Sophia, her sisters Judy and Sonnie. She was preceded in death by her mother Ruby, stepfather Richard, sisters Connie, June, Ann, Sue and Sandy, and brother George. She leaves behind not only grieving loved ones but a community touched by her grace and generosity.

A celebration of her remarkable life will be held on June 21, 2025, with internment at 12 pm at Park Lawn Cemetery, 8251 Hillcrest Rd, Kansas City, MO 64138, followed by a Celebration of Life from 1 to 3 pm at Rosehill Gardens, 311 E 135th St. Kansas City, MO 64145, where we invite you to share stories of how she touched your world.

In lieu of flowers (though she would insist everyone should buy some for themselves), the family suggests donations to PBS or simply planting something beautiful in her memory.
