Geraldine Rose Bomar

Geraldine R. Bomar passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, at the age of 100. Geraldine, Geri to those who knew her, was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and lived in the Kansas City area most of her adult life. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother and her sister. She is survived by her children: Patricia Sprague (Larry); Timothy (Tim) Bomar (Natalia); Terrance (Terry); Brian Bomar (Teresa); Ann Moran (James); grandsons Ezekiel (Zeke) Bomar and Trevor Bomar.

Prior to her marriage, Geri worked for an airline and enjoyed traveling with her girlfriends. It was at this time she made the move to Kansas City, Missouri. After marriage, she became a full-time wife and mother. Geri was a frequent volunteer at her children’s schools serving in different capacities from playground monitor to adult chaperone on buses to high school football games. After her divorce, Geri moved to Independence, Missouri where she lived for many years and had many friends. She was always an avid reader and enjoyed working puzzles until being diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. In 2013, Geri moved to Ignite Medical Resort at Carondelet.

Services will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Greenlawn Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
