With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gerry M. Rhodes, whose gracious spirit and polished presence touched the lives of all who knew her. Born on February 11, 1942, in Basin, Wyoming, Gerry's life was as resplendent as it was enduring, culminating in a journey of eighty-four remarkable years before her peaceful passing on August 13, 2026.

To know Gerry was to know a person of many gifts and unwavering warmth. Her elegance radiated not only through her demeanor but also through the way she made every person feel cherished and seen. She was a social butterfly, forever enlivening each gathering with laughter, music, and dance. There was rarely a festivity or occasion that did not bear her imprint — she delighted in planning parties, ensuring that all who attended left with spirits uplifted and memories to treasure.

There was artistry in Gerry's hands, evident in the beautiful gardens she tended with attentive care and in the aroma of fresh-baked goods that so often filled her home. Most notably, her talent as a seamstress revealed itself in every wedding dress she lovingly sewed for those dear to her heart. Through each careful stitch, she embroidered her affections, bestowing upon her loved ones gifts that would become cherished heirlooms.

Gerry found joy in the simplest form — drinking coffee lost in the pages of fiction mysteries, invariably drawn to stories centering strong women, a reflection, perhaps, of her own quiet strength.

Yet above all her interests and virtues, Gerry’s proudest accomplishment was her unwavering devotion to those she loved, most especially as “Nena.” The boundless affection she poured forth knew no end, and this role was her heart’s truest work—a legacy of unwavering love that shall echo through generations.

As we bid farewell to Gerry M. Rhodes, we remember a life that bloomed in kindness, creativity, and joy—a life defined not only by its accomplishments, but by the profound and enduring impact she had on all privileged enough to share in her journey. She remains a shining example of love and grace, and her memory will forever be carried in our hearts.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, Dwight and Marian Hankins; and her loving husband, Steven.

She is survived by her children, Gregg (Mary Ann) Nelson, Lisa (Brad) Rhodes Holt, and Nikki (Greg) Arnold; grandchildren, Andrew (Megan) Miller, Taylor (Drew) Berg and Grace; Katie, Sarah, Henry, and Max Lyon; Emma and Michael Suppes, Zachary Arnold; Adrienne Dunham, Grant (Ami) Dunham, and Meredith (Damiano) DeLeo; step grandson: Kyle (Rose) Hanrahan; her sister, Jeanne Hankins; as well as countless other family and friends.
