Gladys "Elaine" (Ingraham) Lamb

With God’s grace and His perfect timing, our mother, Gladys “Elaine” (Ingraham) Lamb passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026 in Pleasant Valley, MO at the age of 90. She was a good and faithful servant to her Savior and her family. She is survived by three of her children; Doug, David and Kelly, and her sister, Gayla. Her adoring husband, Jerry (1998), and youngest daughter Melissa (2019) preceded her in death.

 Elaine was born on April 23, 1935 in Cora, MO to Hazel and Gayle Ingraham, grew up in Browning, MO and graduated high school as Valedictorian in 1953. She then moved to the big city of Kansas City, MO, first living with her Aunt Hazel and Uncle Orvis. She soon moved into her first apartment with her best friend, Shirley Ramsey, started secretarial school and worked at Starlight Theater and then a local advertising agency. Shirley and her husband Bill introduced her to the love of her life, Jerry Lamb, in May of 1956 and they were married that August. 

Her speedy typing and shorthand skills guided her employment to First National Bank, and then Farmland Industries where she retired from in 1996. Beyond her work, she was a loving wife and mother of 4, grandmother of 9, great grandmother of 22, and great-great grandmother of 2. 

Those who knew her will remember her love of crocheting, sewing and quilting. Her happy place was at her beloved sewing machine. After retiring, she was a volunteer for several years at Liberty Hospital, working in the gift shop. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and volunteered there with funeral dinners and bulletins. She attended a Sunday school class with many of her friends and was active in traveling with some of them for several years. She loved going to church and wanted everyone she knew to know the Lord. 

A visitation and memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 28th at 11:00 am at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in the Chapel (1600 Rte 291, Liberty, MO 64068). She was a loving, caring Mom and we will miss her very much.
