Gloria Anne Gossett, age 87, passed on at Valley Manor Center in Excelsior Springs Missouri following a short illness.
Gloria was the third of four children and first daughter born on March 13, 1938, in Kansas City Missouri. Her parents were Bernice (Davidson) Puls and Fred Puls. Her early years were spent in Kansas City before her family moved to Liberty Missouri when she was 11 years old. Gloria graduated from Liberty High School in 1956. She married William F. Gossett in 1957 and they made their home in Liberty where they raised their sons, Billy and Bruce. Gloria worked for Southwestern Bell/ATT for 37 years.
Gloria’s family was very important to her, and she loved hosting large family gatherings for holidays and special occasions. She also enjoyed reading, traveling, playing cards, and watching figure skating. She was always happy to have her grandchildren near. One of her favorite activities was antiquing with her sister Barbara.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Ray and Bill Sprague, her grandson Brian Gossett, and several cousins. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, William F Gossett, her sons, Billy (Becky) Gossett and Bruce (Tammy) Gossett; her grandchildren, Jeff, Drew (Laurie), Ian (Cathy), and Chloe (Jesse Schnurman); her new great-grandbaby Theodore Gossett; her sister, Barbara (Jim) Moore; and many nieces and nephews.
The visitation is scheduled for March 7 at 10am in the chapel at Second Baptist Church, Liberty. The memorial service will follow at 11am, also in the chapel at Second Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at Liberty Hospital, Valley Manor Care Center, and Ascent Hospice for the loving care they provided in the last days.
