It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for her life that we announce the peaceful passing of Gloria Scott, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, on September 6, 2026. Born on March 9, 1953, in Carterville, Missouri, Gloria departed this world surrounded by the warmth and love of her cherished family.
The daughter of Leroy and Aletha McClintock, Gloria grew up in a nurturing home that instilled in her the values of kindness, resilience, and generosity. These qualities would become the cornerstone of her life, as she dedicated herself to her family and community with unwavering devotion.
Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Leroy and Aletha McClintock, her siblings Marilynn Newman, Kenny McClintock, Larry McClintock, Judy Nelson, and her treasured son, Christopher Michael Scott.
Her legacy of love and strength continues to live on in those she leaves behind. A devoted wife to W. Kent Scott, Gloria and Kent were married on November 20, 1972, and would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary this year. Their enduring partnership was a testament to their shared commitment and love.
Gloria's pride and joy were her children, George R. Scott (Amy Mayfield), Kenda L. Stone (Billy Stone), Maria C. Head (Robert Head), Jason D. Scott, and Jessica R. Scott. She was a nurturing and supportive mother, always encouraging them to follow their dreams and live life with integrity.
Her heart was also filled with love for her ten grandchildren: Angelica N. Scott-Stone (Matt Venegoni), Aletha K. Johnson (Malik Johnson), Alexandria R. Scott (Higgonbothom), Noalle C. Stone (Cory Osier'woods), Clohee Stone, Bethany Stone, Joey Stone (Lily Pinion), Arrin Phillips (Austin Cordray), and Kinzley Stone.
Gloria was further blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Rayden McLeod, Slay Stone, Hayes Stone, Aella Johnson, Rayner Venegoni, Padme Stone, Roemellie Osier 'woods, and Wylder Osier'woods. They will forever cherish the memories of her warm hugs, endless encouragement, and infectious laughter.
Gloria is also survived by her brother, Rodger McClintock, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who were touched by her kindness and spirit. Her life was a tapestry woven with the threads of friendship, family, and love and her faith in our ELOHIM that she instilled in us all.
Though Gloria's physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever illuminate the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering strength will continue to inspire all who knew her. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love she so freely gave to others
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The exact date, time, and location time will be posted as soon as final arrangements are made.
