Gwendolyn Anne Winklbauer

           Gwendolyn Anne (Smith) Winklbauer, 72, of Liberty, MO, passed away June 16, 2023, at K.U. Medical Center.

          Gwen was born April 8, 1951, in Independence, MO, the eldest of four children of Robert and Anna (Hudlemeyer) Smith. Along with her parents, Gwen was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Winklbauer, and daughter, Lindsay Winklbauer.

Gwen grew up in Kearney and graduated from Liberty High School. She was a Certified Radiology Technologist, retiring from North Kansas City Hospital in 2020.

            Survivors include her son, Adam Winklbauer (Jennifer); grandsons, Wade and William Winklbauer; brothers, Phillip Smith (Debby), Gene Smith (Linda) and Mark Smith (Michelle); as well as nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

          Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, followed by a service celebrating Gwen’s life at 2:00 pm, on Friday, June 23, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO.  Burial will follow at Glenridge Cemetery.

          In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the KU Cancer Center (kucancercenter.org/give) or to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America (hdsa.org)
