Imogene Pansy Goss

Imogene Pansy Goss, 94, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home with her family on August 9, 2025. Imogene was born in McAlester, Oklahoma, on January 18, 1931, to Dallas Franklin Lee and Clara Maude (Jones) Lee.

Imogene maintained her grace, kindness, compassion, and deep love for her family and friends until the end. She always expressed deep gratitude for a long and fulfilling life.

Imogene was a devoted member of her community, delivering for Meals on Wheels and sitting with hospice patients for over 30 years. For more than 60 years, she was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church of Kansas City, Missouri, until its closure in 2024. Imogene volunteered in the church, served as the church secretary for a time, and delivered communion to members unable to attend services.

Imogene worked for the Main Post Office of Kansas City for 30 years, beginning as a postal carrier and advancing to Postmaster. She loved her work and her colleagues.

Imogene was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Pauline and Jerry; her brother, Dallas (Big Sonny); former husband, Curtis Goss; son, Dallas (Mickey) Goss; son-in-law, Danny Cornelius and two grand-children, Robert Goss and Melissa Goss Barrett.

Imogene is survived by her daughters, Colleen Gipson of Kansas City, Tarra Cornelius of Kansas City, and Kerry Burris(Kay) of Belton. She is also survived by her sons, Christopher Goss of San Diego and Ira Goss of Overland Park.

Imogene is survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Imogene will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

As per Imogene’s wishes, she was cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
