Pearl Hooten

May 25, 1933 — September 14, 2025

Kansas City

Irma Pearl Hooten, 92, was born on May 25, 1933, in Yazoo City Mississippi to James Aultman and Ida Catherine Jeffries. Pearl is preceded in death by her husband, Alvis Hooten, siblings Jessie Thompson, Martha Holden, Clarence Aultman, Bud Aultman, Louis Aultman, Gene Aultman, Roy Aultman, and Tommy Aultman, and her Granddaughter Barbara Hooten.

On January 16, 1954, Pearl married Alvis Eugene Hooten and together they had three children. They traveled all over the US and abroad with the US Air Force, and finally retire in Kansas City Missouri after his last assignment at Richards Gebauer Air Force Base.

For most of her married life, Pearl was a “stay at home mom” with her number one priority being to take care of her children. She cooked full meals every night for dinner, made their clothes, helped with homework, and packed lunches for school every day. Later in life, she loved working in custom drapery factories and sewing projects for personal customers.

Pearl was one of 10 siblings who, like a lot of families, experienced pain, discord, and division. But through it all she loved every one of her siblings and always spoke highly of them. When she married Alvis, who was the oldest of 9, she immediately considered all his siblings to be her own and treated them as such.

Pearl departed this life on September 14, 2025, at the home of natural causes. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son Jerry Hooten and his wife Debra Hooten, daughter Debbie Hooten Ward, and son Don Hooten, her sister Lydia Thompson, grandchildren:  Scott Hooten, Chelsea Ward and her husband Chris Williams, Logan Ward, and great granddaughter Winter Williams.
