Jackie Charles Peters, 81, passed away on May 20, 2025, in Liberty, Missouri due to complications from advanced liver cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren in his final days. Jackie was born on February 18, 1944 in Electra, Texas and was raised in Chickasha by his grandfather, Charles Crawford, and his mother, Mildred. He grew up with his cousins as his best friends. He was married twice and has two children from his second marriage. Jackie was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1994 and was sealed to his family in the Dallas, Texas Temple in 1999.
After high school, Jack served for a time in the U.S. Army before living most of his life in Chickasha, Norman and Noble, Oklahoma. Most of his career was working as an electrician and machine mechanic at Shaklee. He loved being outside in the sunshine, walking, fishing, or swimming with his family. He enjoyed feeding birds, especially hummingbirds. He was an OU football fan till the day he died. Jack was a Maker; creating furniture, restoring automobiles, woodworking and other art. He became quite the connoisseur of smoked meats!
In his final years, he retired to a senior home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He made many friends and stayed in touch with his closest friends and family. Jackie is survived by his two children, Joshua Peters and Chesnye Gardner, their spouses, Elizabeth Peters and Mark Gardner, and his grandchildren, Evelyn, Clarissa, Jane, Charles, and Nathaniel Peters, and Kaelum, Starlee, Emrys, and Jovian Gardner and his stepson, Gray Miller and his step-granddaughters, Ashlei, Kat, Danica, and Danielle, as well as his cousin, Tommy Crawford and Tommy's partner, Karen.
A memorial service for Jackie will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 29th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4401 East Maguire Rd, Noble, OK 73068. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jack's life. He will be laid to rest in Glenridge Cemetery in Liberty, MO on Friday, May 30th.

The family would like to thank Liberty Hospital ICU and Elevate Hospice for the care and dedication to making sure Jackie was comfortable in his final days.
