James H. “Jim” Stolte, 77, of Kansas City, Missouri, Born August 26 1948, passed away peacefully at his home on April 28, 2026 after battling cancer. Born in South Amboy, New Jersey, Jim lived a life rooted in dedication, resilience, and deep love for his family.
Jim graduated from high school in St. Clair, Missouri, in 1966 and went on to serve his country after volunteering for the draft. He comes from a unique family where both his parents and all his siblings have served. Following his time in the military, he began his career in the finance industry before transitioning into collections, where his strong work ethic and determination ultimately led him and his beloved wife, Teresa, to open their own business together in 1994.
Jim was a man who found joy in life’s simple but meaningful moments. He loved baseball, horse racing, golf, and bowling, but nothing brought him more happiness than time spent with his family. Whether he was cheering from the stands or oAering advice like a coach, Jim was always present—supporting, guiding, and celebrating his children and grandchildren in all their endeavors. His voice, encouragement, and pride will forever echo in their hearts.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Teresa Stolte; his children, Tom Stolte (Shawnee), Shaun Stolte, Jade Stolte, and Kristina Stolte; eight cherished grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; Brother Bob Stolte (Vicky), and Sister Lissa Aubuchon. He was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Doris Stolte, and his brother, Jack Stolte.
Jim will be remembered as a loving husband, a proud father and grandfather, and a man whose strength, humor, and unwavering support shaped the lives of those who knew him. A true Patriot and forever Royals fan. His legacy lives on in the family he adored so deeply.
Visitation will be held at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64138, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
