Jeffery Lee Pennington, age 65, entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 27th. He was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran who later went on to get his CDL and become a truck driver.

Jeffery was in a motorcycle accident in 1989 that shaped the rest of his life. Known as “Miracle Man” by his grandma Mary and mom Ruby, Jeffery with the support of his loving wife Sheila, worked hard towards rehabilitation. While he never fully recovered from his disability, he learned how to walk and talk again and lived a fulfilling life for most of the last 37 years on this earth. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, music, and loved a good joke. He was an avid Chiefs fan who always shouted “whoop there it is!” every time they scored a touchdown. He was a social butterfly and would chat with anyone who gave him their ear. He enjoyed his coffee. Some would even say a connoisseur with the variety of flavors, creamers, and syrups on hand at anytime. He was always up for a game of Yahtzee at the kitchen table. If you ever played with him, you knew you were in trouble when he said, “I love my threes!”. Jeffery’s life was full of wonderful memories and he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Jeffery is survived in death by his wife of 37 years, Sheila, sons Brandon, David, and Frank, daughter-in-law Kathleen, grandkids McKayla, Dylan, and Sophia, sister Tammy, brother Eric, and nieces and nephew Neva, Naomi, Arianna, and Michael.

Jeffery is proceeded in death by his parents Mike and Ruby, and brother Louie.

Jeffery’s memorial service will be held at Park Lawn South Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd, Kansas City, MO 64138 on Friday, October 2nd, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
