Jennifer Mariana Langley (Thome)

With sorrow in our hearts, we announce the passing of Jennifer Mariana Langley, our beloved Gigi. Jennifer passed away on September 18th, 2026, at the age of 63 in Lee’s Summit, MO after a recent cancer diagnosis.

Jennifer was born June 18th, 1963, in Kansas City, Missouri to Raymond C. and Margaret S. (Tesso) Thome. They grew up moving around all over the country, but Kansas City was where Jennifer was always at home. Jennifer and her wife Becky planted their roots in the Raymore/Peculiar area.

Jennifer attended Ruskin High School and Longview College. After Longview, Jennifer entered the Internal Revenue Service building a long career. Jennifer’s tenure at the IRS stretched 30+ years. She started out opening mail and quickly advanced as a manager in the processing division and spent her last years of service in the Criminal Investigation Division as a manager, director and a system analyst. She received two different commissioner awards for her work.

Jennifer enjoyed spending time with family whether she was watching her grandchildren play in the pool, spending time at the lake house, boating at Pomme de Terre, or meddling in the flower gardens. In her younger years, Jennifer had a fear of the water after a near drowning experience. Over time, her love for water adventures was cultivated into riding jet skis, boating, and tubing Pomme de Terre. She enjoyed piecing together puzzles and listening to a variety of music. You never knew where you would catch her dancing and singing along to her favorite songs, whether it be in the kitchen or the department stores, the floor was always hers whenever she felt the urge. Antiquing and viewing homes was always a family affair. Jennfier was not into many sports, but she could not shy away from catching the Kansas City Chiefs and Partrick Mahomes during football season.

Jennifer is survived by her loving wife Rebekah Violett, Mother-in-Law Patricia Violett, daughter and son in law Margaret & Olajuwon Brown, grandchildren Sofia, Mia and Anthony Brown; son Thomas Langley and numerous nephews and niece and great nieces and nephews and her rambunctious dog Kosmo.

Jennifer Mariana Langley was loved by many. She will always be in our hearts and greatly missed. Gone for now, never forgotten. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the following organizations:
