Celebration of Life for Jesi Kwajo Emmanuel Bediako

He was born in Merriam, Kansas, on June 12, 2000. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He embraced life with an unquenchable passion until the time came for him to surrender it.

On May 18th, 2025, he put a video game on pause and went to ride his beloved motorcycle. While travelling Westbound on Hwy 152, an elevated section of the asphalt caused him to lose control of the motorcycle. He crashed into the metal cables and rails that divide the westbound lanes and eastbound lanes. Jesi was 24 years young when he died. Yet, he packed a lifetime of adventures in that short time.

Jesi was a resident of Kansas City, but he lived in Massachusetts, California, and Cape Girardeau, MO, to fulfill his football dreams.

Jesi is survived by his father, Joseph Y. Bediako; his mother, Yolanda A. Bediako; his senior brother, Nkansa I. Bediako; his Aunt, Marcella Jones; and five uncles: Gabriel Bediako (Trina), Marcelino Lake (Melani), Michael Bediako, Ralph Bediako (Cheryl), and David Bediako (Cynthia). He also is survived by a host of cousins: Ian Gumbs, Duane Gumbs, Marvin Gumbs, Alex Gumbs, Kelley Gumbs, Joshua Bediako, Janay Lake (Julie), Marcelino I. Lake II, Elia Amegashie, John E. Lake II, Sarah Bediako, Rachel Bediako, Morgan Lake, Maiya Lake, L’ange Lemmonier, Avery Lemmonier, Cameron Jones. Jesi was part of a large and loving extended family with cousins throughout the Caribbean, Europe, Australia, and Indonesia.
